slowjane at Martyrs' - 4/6/01 |
| Reviewed By | Eric J. Olsen |
The Opinion |
slowjane not only play their own brand of harmony-laden pop-rock, but when they played at Martyrs' they took the stage as their own. Larry Beers on drums and Tom Atteberry on bass laid down the groove, while Mitch Marlow energized the mix with his guitar. But the focal point are the vocal harmonies between Liska Swanstrom and Laura Caragher, who also played guitar. From the onset, slowjane turned the energy up and played each song as if they were one mind. The songs and the witty banter between them kept the audience entertained throughout the entire set. There's not a lot more you can ask for from a concert. slowjane puts on the kind of show that leaves the audience wholly satisfied. With great music, energy, intensity, and the occasional comic tidbit, the audience completely enjoyed the show. slowjane's show is the kind of concert that will never get old and always satisfies the audience. |
