The Opinion |
|
Stolie's album of the same name, is an amazing collection of songs. The power and emotion that are conveyed in every song belie the fact that most of the time it's just Stolie and her guitar. It's easy to get lost in the music as her silky vocal delivery transports the listener to another place. There is not one track that fails to deliver. Stolie's songwriting is remarkable. Combine great songs with her solid guitar work and moving voice, and the listener is enveloped in the sounds emanating from the speakers. Then the listener is swept up into the world created by the songs. Every song is a story told in Stolie's unique viewpoint. Stolie manages to put every emotion from the lyrics into her delivery. Making every joy, every despair not just heard, but felt. Without relying on any lyrical fall-backs, Stolie makes every song her own. The production on the album couldn't be any better. Whether it's a four-track recording or a live track, they all sound amazing. The emotion-packed vocals and the music behind them blend perfectly. Every track showcases the overwhelming talent that Stolie has, both as a songwriter and a performer. |
